Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Star Wars: Prodigy

After Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm rendered the original Star Wars Expanded Universe null and void and they released the Sequel Trilogy, they would begin to gradually fill in the chronological gap between it and the Original Trilogy with series such as The Mandalorian. Another series that would come about would be Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which occurs in roughly the same timeframe after the collapse of the Galactic Empire, being more down-to-earth (or to the planet At Attin) and focusing on a group of truant students who make a discovery on the planet that leads them on an adventure and quest to get back home.

A pirate captain, Jod Na Nawood, portrayed by Jude Law, plays a significant role, with the performances of the adult and child actors being good, and plenty of alien creatures old and young appearing like the young blue elephantine Neel and the lupine Shistavanen Brutus, with whom Jod clashes. The series is overall enjoyable and continues nicely to the Star Wars mythos, although its premise somewhat reminds me of old series like Nickelodeon's Space Cases and the more contemporary Star Trek: Prodigy. Regardless, I will definitely watch another season if Disney decides to continue the series.
